Every person should have the freedom to do good by reducing the pull on electricity and utility bills. The BC government has finally built a progressive program designed to be accessible to everyone — no matter the number of individuals living in the home and the income earned in the household. CleanBC aims to build better homes through the Home Renovation Rebate Programs; BC Hydro and FortisBC are heading these initiatives and partnering with local contractors they trust to get the work done.

In order to become a registered contractor, each business must complete:

  1. Training with FortisBC and BC Hydro on the Home Renovation Rebate Program and CleanBC Home Efficiency Rebates.
  2. Completed best practice training: Insulation contractors complete additional air sealing and insulation best practice training.
  3. Registered with WorkSafeBC.

Our team at Okanagan Insulation is proud to have served the BC Interior for over 40 years and worked with the BC energy and utility sector for just as long.

Meagan Meyer, the Project Coordinator, is excited to announce that, “We were invited to participate in this program based on our successful relationship with FortisBC and BC Hydro as a Program Registered Contractor for the Home Renovation Rebate Program.”

The amount of income a household earns should not dictate a person’s entitlement to living in a healthy, comfortable, and energy-efficient home. CleanBC is offering enhanced rebates based on a two-tiered income level chart. Using this tool, homeowners can determine their eligibility to access rebates of up to 95% of energy-saving home upgrade costs. These services include insulation upgrades, windows and doors, heat pumps, and water heaters.

Meagan states, “With the two-tiered income level, we find this program to be pretty extensive in the number of individuals and families in BC that it would apply to.“

Our professional insulation installers have a history of working within the regulations set by BC Hydro and FortisBC; as a result, our technicians will understand the process to expedite the process and do the job right.

To be approved for the rebate, the program requires that the new insulation must be:

  • Batt insulation
  • Spray foam insulation
  • Loose-fill insulation
  • Board insulation
